About Logogram

Logogram is an AI logo generator built for one specific job: turning a brand brief into letter-based marks that survive contact with real production work.

Why it exists

Most AI logo tools optimise for the moment of delivery: a plausible-looking image, fast. That is the easy half. The hard half starts afterwards — when the mark has to be recoloured for a dark background, scaled to a favicon, handed to a printer as a vector, and explained to a client who asks why it looks like that.

So the product is shaped around the parts that usually get skipped. A brief produces several genuinely different directions rather than one answer, because choosing between ideas is the actual design decision. Every logo is vectorised, because an upscaled bitmap is not a logo. There is an SVG editor in the same browser tab, because the last ten percent of a mark is always small fixes. And each direction comes with a written rationale, because "here is why this shape" is what turns a picture into a proposal.

The name comes from the linguistic term: a logogram is a written character that stands for a whole word. That is what a good monogram does — one mark carrying an entire name. There is a longer piece on the term and its history if you want the etymology.

Who makes it

Logogram is built by Orhan Yilmaz, a designer working on vector logo tooling. He writes the posts on this blog, sets the design constraints the generator is prompted against, and answers the support email.

The company behind it is Obey24com, a sole proprietorship registered in Niefern, Germany (VAT ID DE269627535). Full legal details, including the postal address and contact email, are on the imprint page.

How the product works

  • Brief, not prompt. You describe the brand in plain language — what it does, who it serves, the feeling, colours, clichés to avoid. There is no prompt syntax to learn.
  • Directions, not variations. Each direction takes a different approach to the same brief, so you compare ideas rather than near-identical outputs.
  • Vectors, always. Finished logos export as SVG and PNG with real editable paths and full commercial usage rights.
  • Editing included. The SVG editor handles colours, layers and paths without leaving the browser.
  • A story to present. Design Story turns a chosen mark into something you can put in front of a client, with the reasoning attached.

What it is not

It is not a replacement for a designer, and it is not sold as one. It is fast at the exploratory stage, where the alternative is sketching dozens of ideas that get thrown away. Deciding which mark actually fits a brand, and standing behind that decision, is still a human job — which is why the tool is aimed at designers first.
